June 24, 2009

Each pregnancy has come with complete strangers coming out of the woodworks to go out of their way to help me. This pregnancy has been no exception. Today I took the kiddos to Costco and it was sunny as we walked in. We were in there maybe 20 minutes, and as we were leaving it was pouring buckets of rain. I hadn't planned on this so i didn't have an umbrella and we just had to make a run for it. Have you ever tried to run when you are not only pushing a cart with a case of water, a case of rice milk, a case of diapers, 6 packages of pasta, 2 large bottles of salsa, a huge box of brownie mix, 6 pounds of ground beef, 70 pounds of kid, and 15 additional pounds on your belly that you aren't used to? It's just not going to happen. So . . . we got to the car and I loaded the kiddos as quickly as I could and then proceeded to get the groceries in. This lady who was driving through the parking lot literally stopped her car in the middle of the parking lot, and got out to help me load. Wow. A lady! I just thought that was pretty stinking cool. Being pregnant just brings out the best in others. This topped the flight attendant who brought Chris and I ice cream sundaes from first class while we were flying in coach . . .

It's Chris's Bday!

So today Chris is the big 33! Once again he is only one year younger than me instead of 2. We threw a little early surprise party for him a week ago with some friends we hang out with once a month, and today we are making his favorite dinner and cake. A little tri-tip steak, potatoes, corn on the cob, and salad, topped off with his favorite yellow cake with chocolate frosting! Can't go wrong! I was a little over the top with gifts for him . . . eek. He'll probably be thinking more about the money I spent rather than the actual gift, but oh well. The boys got him a WII fit (nice boys!), and I got him an engraved decantur, which doesn't arrive until tomorrow. So . . . we'll open the gift from the boys tonight. I would be worried about posting this on our blog before he opened the gift if I thought he actually read this, but I'm pretty certain he doesn't - so I should be safe! It's summer time for the boys and they get a little break from the norm at school, so I am off to find sports shirts for them to wear tomorrow. I'll post some pics soon of Serena and I showing off our bellies this weekend. I'm about double her size - literally. We watched a show on cruising last night and now I am ready for another cruise - and realizing that is not going to happen for a very long time, especially now that we will be tasking someone with 3 kiddos if we would like to go away by ourselves for a bit. :) The babies are worth it!! Love you guys!

Serena's Coming!!

Serena's coming tommorrow and this is a very special visit because she is pregnant also, due 2 weeks after me, and is also having a girl. We found out 1 week apart that we were pregnant, and 2 weeks apart what we were having, and it has been an amazing journey together so far. We didn't really grow up with cousins our age, so I am just thrilled that we will be able to provide that relationship for our kids. So far the only plans are shoe and bra shopping, and we may go to the red, white and blue festival in Highland Village. I don't really know what goes on there, but any festival sounds fun, the weather is beautiful, and the kids will have a blast (you can pretty much take them anywhere and create an adventure out of it). I am feeling quite huge at the moment, and I am certain that I am about double the size of Serena so that should be interesting! Love you all!
